As Salaamu Alaikum Dear Parents/Guardians, As concerns over the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) continues in our area the MCGP School Administration has decided to move to a virtual classroom starting from Saturday March 21 until further notice. The physical classrooms at MCGP will be closed but we will continue learning and our aim is not to miss any learning days Insha Allah. We have been working hard to set up the infrastructure and training our staff to support this virtual learning environment over the past few days. Here are some important details you will need to know for the upcoming weeks:
We ask that you maintain the current routine you would with your child on Saturday as if they were going to attend in-person. Please get them ready and prepared to attend the virtual class. For younger children, parents are encouraged to sit with them and help them as learning online maybe a new experience for them.
If possible, we ask you find a quiet place in your home for your child to join the class. We do not want them getting distracted during class.
We have chosen WebEx to be our platform for e-learning. You can use ANY device (mac, pc, laptop, iphone, ipad, android phones, andorid tablets). There is also an mobile/tablet app available. You can view their website for all details (https://www.webex.com)
There will be no A/B sections and there will be combined classes.
There will be 2 periods. Qur’anic Studies will be Period 1 from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM and Islamic Studies will be from 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM. There will be a 15 minute break between periods.
There will be a different Webex web meeting link for each period so please ensure you dial into the correct one. Your child’s teacher will provide you the link via e-mail/portal.
Teachers will be sending material on Friday. Lookout for pages that need to be pre-printed so your child is ready.
Primary communication will be done via the parent portal. If you do not have access to the portal yet please e-mail us at admin@mcgpschool.org before Saturday and we will set up your access.
As this is a transition period for us we ask parent’s to help us and if there are any issues please e-mail admin@mcgpshool.org. We ask Allah (SWT) to protect all of us and help us through this trial. Please continue to follow the CDC website for latest information (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) and practice all pre-cautionary and safety measures.
